"After 50 years of daily work on The Flower of Life, I finally have made the first painting that I deem complete" This is the life story of Cliff Barber, a renowned yoga and philosophy teacher, who was among the first to bring yoga from India to the west in the 1960's.
19-03-2019 \'Cliff Barber and the Flower of Life\' is a brilliant book I met Cliff Barber in 1986 and he made a big impression on me then. He taught me Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga in the jungle near the beach in North Goa. His teaching was intense but really amazing. It was also at this time he showed me the incredible drawings he was making. Even with a postgraduate level qualification in mathematics I was astounded with the genius of what he had done. And this was more than 30 years ago. I kept learning from Cliff till the early 1990s and then did not see him again till 2014 I went with our dear friend Danny Paradise to visit Cliff where he been living for decades, very simply outside, by a river in Crete and still continuing his yoga teaching and his mathematical art. I have known Carl Borgen for almost as long as I have known Cliff. In my opinion he is a quiet genius and very noble honourable and dedicated man who has incredible talent in the field of creative writing and design. This book is the culmination of an incredible project he put together that really has something for everyone. When the book finally arrived in my house in Australia I was thrilled to show it to my family including my teenage children. Everyone was amazed. We leave the book on the table for everyone to see. I can not recommend this book enough to everyone I speak to.
