If I lived on this Earth for 10,000 years, I’d never experience in this reality anything like the realms I have entered after taking both ayahuasca and psilocybin; realms that were not just indescribable, they were beyond anything the mind on its own could possibly imagine or comprehend.
It would seem logical to begin my recount of the use of psychedelic plant medicines at the very moment ayahuasca first touched my lips, but that is not in fact when happenings began. What once appeared to me as a very mundane and routine life before psychedelics, was anything but afterwards. As I put pen to paper to write the initial lines of this book, I was convinced I’d even bore myself reading about my own life – oh how wrong I was going to be! From the most innocuous of trivialities to major events, everything, and I mean everything in your life I now understand is purposefully scripted, choreographed and recorded by what I can only define as an infinite, eternal force of consciousness that knows you better than you. Watched a movie and thought it was irrelevant? It almost certainly was not! Heard a song that delivered a message at precisely the time you needed it? It was no coincidence at all. Observed an ancient pattern or drawing and then bought clothing, artwork or jewellery that was emblazoned with that very same pattern or drawing? There’s a very special reason you did that. There are fundamental things at work in this reality that science will have to accept, because it will never understand.
I have an immense amount of hope for the future, despite all the problems that currently engulf this world. It’s not so much what the world has become that bothers me at the present moment in time, more the realisation of what it could have been…. and will be once again! We are entering an incredibly special but not unique time that the Earth hasn’t experienced for thousands of years. That dark times are yet to come in the very near future, I have no doubts whatsoever; but the inevitable and unstoppable evolution of consciousness means that within the lifetimes of many people living today, they themselves may well be witness to some of the greatest changes mankind has ever experienced…. and it is my hope, as a result of the insights I have gained from my five psychedelic experiences with ayahuasca and psilocybin, that this book can shed a little light, to you the reader, as to the nature of, and the reasons behind, these changes.
