Dear Betty!

Come warm me! Coldest morning ever. Last night I nearly froze wandering around these dark roads ducking shells. When I returned to Headquarters a shell landed about 30 feet from me. The concussion knocked me off the chair. Got real cross and went to bed. Slept real good, right through it all.
Having our New Year's Turkey today, yesterday we were too busy to eat.
All I had was coffee. The lady gave me my mittens yesterday. They are real cute and very warm.
The other day I saw “Doc” Fine who was with your group in Palm Springs when I met you. He asked about you and glad to know we were still corresponding. He also said; Dike it won't be long now..... ×
