  About the authors
  We are a married couple, born and raised in the Netherlands. Michel graduated cum laude from the Dutch Academy for Visual Arts in 2016. Madeleine is a graduated social worker who specializes in drug and alcohol addiction. We combined our strengths and came to the idea to create Mimafotografie.nl. We currently use the Artplein-Spui market in Amsterdam to exhibit our art. Our photography is about storytelling and visualizing emotions. In this concept, Sexual Evolution, we see a trend in which the woman is evolving and becoming more unique. From the end fifties, women’s rights were changing, and her way to become equal with men was a new chapter. In this book we went further, and we saw 14 phases of a woman, after 40 years of sexual revolution. We gave it the title “Sexual Evolution”. The 14 phases which we have seen are explained on the first page of this book. We found people who shared our vision and who helped us to believe in what we are witnessing in our lives. Every individual we have interviewed, we asked the question “how do you see yourself?” In this search we put the focus on the mindset of the woman.

  Phase 1 Dreams: Every young girl starts with dreams of what she would like to be or become. In this phase her journey of exploring her sexuality starts.
  Phase 2 Romantic: At a certain age, the young woman thinks of having a relationship. Thoughts arise of finding the ultimate partner who wants to care for her children.
  Phase 3 Loyalty: When a woman falls in love she will be loyal to her partner.
  Phase 4 Wasted: When the relation is over the woman feels wasted and she will show a completely different side of herself.
  Phase 5 Girl Power: Coming back from feeling wasted, she will explore her own needs, and disregards the values she has learned.
  Phase 6 Playful: When a woman enters this phase, she starts to learn how to seduce men and women.
  Phase 7 Seduction: In this stage she does not mind hurting other women. Her game is about confidence, and she understands how to get things done.
  Phase 8 Secrets: The woman is no longer scared to share her fantasies or secrets.
  Phase 9 Confidence: She is not insecure anymore about her own body or about who she is.
  Phase 10 Provocation: Once the woman has gained confidence, she likes to provoke her partner. She finally sees that men and women should be equal regardless of sexual differences.
  Phase 11 Domination: In this phase she would like to take on a position of dominance.
  Phase 12 Lost: This phase is dangerous. She understands that her secrets can be broken in her sexual desires, which can connect to her traumas of the past.
  Phase 13 Liberation: The woman enters this stage when phase 12 is overcome.
  Phase 14 Dom and Sub: In this final phase the woman can change personas. In one way, she wants to be dominant, and in another way she wants to be submissive. In this phase her partner should be subservient to her sexual desires.
