- Samenvatting
European patent rights are only granted after a thorough examination of formal and substantive requirements. The EPO-EPC Guidelines for Examination (www.epo.org) details the practice and procedure to be followed before the European Patent Office (EPO) under the European Patent Convention (EPC). The EPO's Unitary Patent Guide outlines how to also obtain an EU Unitary Patent (which is expected to be available from early 2023).
Our Indexed version improves on the official digital versions by abbreviating index entries, grouping them at the front to allow quick scanning, using page numbers to speed up finding pages, indicating sections with significant changes in the last 3 years, and fully using the page size to give a better overview of paragraphs.
IP law is highly complex and continuously changing, so always double-check the status with the latest official resources. The EPO-EPC Guidelines are expected to be legally valid from 1 Mar 2022 to 28 Feb 2023.
This book is suitable as a desktop reference for everyday use by attorneys and administrators. It is also suitable for anyone studying European Patent Law and exam candidates. For European Qualifying Exam (EQE) candidates, this is the official version for EQE 2023 Main Exam & Pre-Exam.
This Study Edition is printed on thicker paper to make it more suitable for intensive tabbing, annotating and highlighting. Dimensions: 210mm x 297mm x 28mm - 532 pages - 1375g.
There is also a Portable Edition using thinner paper.

Essential for Paper D
This is the second time I have ordered the large ("study") printed version of the EPO Guidelines (yes, the second time I will be attempting Paper D, but I don't blame the book for that!). The book is great - good quality paper, printing and binding, and I personally much prefer working with paper than online. Very useful index as well. Thanks!
Good quality book.
The book doesn\'t lay flat.
